Back from holiday

My wife and I spent two lovely weeks in the mountains of Western North Carolina. My only complaint is that the change of colors had not really happened yet, apparently due to the wet spring.

Comments are back open. I fixed the pics for Archbishop Michael Ramsey and E. L. Mascall, so they are now visible.

I hope to be back posting later in the week. I’ll probably begin with a short post on Charles Williams’s novel The Place of the Lion, which I read during the first few days of our vacation. I wish I had taken more of Williams’s novels with me!

So glad to have you back, Fr. Aidan.

Are you familiar with Thomas Howard’s book, The Novels of Charles Williams? Howard’s introductory chapter as well as his analyses of each of Williams’ books are especially helpful if read *before* tackling any of the novels. He recaps Williams’ stories with such eloquent simplicity that the more esoteric and difficult parts just fall into place.

I’ll be looking forward to hearing what you have to say about The Place of the Lion.

Connie, I used to have a copy of Howard’s book, but, alas, it long ago disappeared from my library. 😦
