A prayer for my mother

This past Tuesday my mother, Ninon Stewart Kimel, fell asleep in the Lord. I ask you to please remember her and her family in your prayers.

O God of all spirits and all flesh, Who have destroyed death, overcome the Devil, and given life to the world, grant, O Lord, to the soul of your servant Ninon, who has departed from this life, that it may rest in a place of light, in a place of happiness, in a place of peace, where there is no pain, no grief, no sighing. And since You are a gracious God and the Lover of mankind, forgive her every sin she has committed by thought, or word, or deed, for there is not a man who lives and does not sin: You alone are without sin, Your righteousness is everlasting, and Your word is true. You are the Resurrection and the Life, and the Repose of your departed servant, Ninon, O Christ our God, and we render glory to You, together with Your Eternal Father and your All-holy, good and life-giving Spirit, now and always and forever and ever. Amen.

May her memory be eternal.
May her memory be eternal.
May her memory be eternal.

O Christ God, with the Saints, grant rest to the soul of your servant, Ninon, in a place where there is no pain, no grief, no sighing, but everlasting life. Amen.

I do not expect to return to serious blogging for at least a week, perhaps two.

For what they are worth you have my prayers for your mother, family and for yourself Father Kimel.

May she rest at ease enraptured in Christ, in His love and joy until He appears and she is raised again in this world beyond death into indestructible, immortal and boundless life, when all shall be made new and creation filled with the glory and Life of God to overflowing, and there shall be no more death, no more mourning for the old, decaying ways will have past and been swept away in the resurrection and renewal of all things.

And I pray and hope that in dark and hard hours when grief hits hardest and terrible evil and nothingness of death seems to bring despair that His love and faithfulness will be all the stronger, upholding and blessing you all even when you feel alone, and the light of the resurrection brings hope in the midst of sorrow, of the certainty of the defeat and coming destruction of this terrible, anti-creational enemy of God, and victory and triumph of life in Christ for all, and particularly for your mother, with the knowledge death has lost and you will be with her again on this, more herself than ever before, in glory unimaginable.

May you always know His love holding you all always.
