    Beautiful image, which I think exemplifies the expressionist power of Byzantine art at its best. The Greek inscription Ο ΕΠΙΤΑΦΙΟΣ ΘΡΗΝΟΣ means “the epitaph mourning”. Observe that there are 4 women but only three men mourning – I wonder if that’s a coincidence.
